CPR Public Service Announcement

Synopsis

The public service announcements covers a topic about CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in which every second matters when someone's heart stops beating. I used a saturated colors like red and blue to show life when the heart is beating which slowly turns gray when it stops. This is meant to show emphasis and a grave tone to make the audience feel uneasy. The sounds in the video are entirely hand made by me in which I tapped on my table to mimic heart beats. The type is also hand made to make it feel personal rather than the corporate announcement that may have people feel dissociated with. Research has been done to make the heart look accurate to the real thing and how it animates while still keeping it stylized so audiences don't feel grossed out.

Behind the Scenes

Composing shots in Cinema 4D is very similar to photography in which you need to have adequate light source and to use the rule of thirds etc. I used the jiggle and bulge deformers to make the heart animate as it would in real life.
